This research was supervised by Mr. Dr. Bahrani, M.Pd as the first advisor and Mrs. Dini Irawati, M.Pd as the second advisor.
Reading comprehension involves how readers comprehend with the material they read. It will be influenced by their background knowledge and the strategies they use. Good comprehension helps readers to infer, identify crucial information, and evaluate the material as they read. The objective of this research is to find out whether the use of puzzle game can increase students’ reading comprehension at second grade of SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda.
The design  of this  research  is  quantitative pre-experimental  one-group research. The data analyzed used SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 25. The instrument used in this research is reading comprehension test items. Class VIII A is one of five class was taken as sample by using purposive sampling technique. There were 33 students in this research.
Based on result of the research showed that a Sig (2-tailed) value = 0.000 and α = 0.05. It means the probability score is lower than alpha (α) (0.000 < 0.05). It  showed  that  ????�   was  accepted,  and  ????0   was  rejected.  Therefore,  it  can  be concluded that there is the use of puzzle games can increase students’ reading comprehension of second grade of SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda.</note>
