This research was guided by Mr. Drs. Khairul Saleh, MA.g as supervisor I and Mr. M Ridho Muttaqin S.Pd.I., M.Pd as supervisor II.  This research is motivated by ineffective learning methods, which have the potential to reduce student motivation in learning and differences in IQ and student backgrounds, which make it difficult for teachers to choose the right learning methods. This study aims to determine the problems in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in PAI BP subjects at SMP Negeri 3 Loa Janan. The research used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis techniques such as data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Researchers found that teachers' experiences and perceptions at SMP Negeri 3 Loa Janan felt significant challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, especially in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Ethics (PAI BP). The main challenges faced include differences in IQ and student backgrounds, as well as difficulties in choosing appropriate learning methods. Teachers also have difficulty conducting comprehensive evaluations due to time constraints. Problems faced by teachers find it difficult to adjust effective teaching methods for all students given the significant differences in IQ and background, inappropriate learning methods can hinder the learning process and reduce student motivation. Solutions include teacher training, development of teaching materials and the application of Islamic values.</note>
