This research was supervised by Dr. Umar Fauzan, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the first advisor and Nadia Sya'ya, M.Pd., M.TESOL as the second advisor. One of the English fields that is included into pragmatics is deixis. Deictic expression are not only related to the internal linguistics element, but also external linguistics element. It means that deixis is really needed in the daily life. This expression is commonly found in a speech. Therefore, speech is one of the tools of English learning, which is many language elements contained in it, including deixis. So, learning deixis through speech is suitable to be applied in educational environments, especially in formal education. Thus, the purpose of this research was to find out the deixis use in Yousafzai's speech and to figure out the type that was dominantly used in this speech. The method that was used in this research was descriptive qualitative method. The researcher applied primary data resource in collecting the data. The raw data was obtained from United Nations Youtube channel. The instrument of this research was researcher itself. Then, the transcript of the speech was analyzed by using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's theory. There were three steps in the data analysis process, namely data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion/verification. The result showed that there were five types of dexis found in Yousafzai's speech, namely person deixis, spatial deixis, temporal deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. The number of deixis used in this speech was 256. That result was divided into 144 data of person deixis (56,3%), 20 data of spatial deixis (7,8%), 30 data of temporal deixis (11,7%), 19 data of discourse deixis (7,4%), and 43 data of social deixis (16,8%). The most dominant type used by the speaker in this speech was person deixis with the total was 144 data and the percentage was 56,3%.</note>
