Thesis of English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic Institute of  Samarinda. This research is under the guidance of Bahrani, M. Pd as advisor 1 and Rostanti Toba, M. Pd as advisor 2.
The students usually talk and describe various topics such as hobbies, tips, or brief speech. Hence, students have utilized vlog as online diaries. More input from several aspects including hobbies, motivation, and interests are required in enhancing foreign language learners’ speaking skills outside the classroom. At the SMK Nasional Muara Jawa, students not only learn in theory but also practice speaking English. The purpose of this research is to know the effective of using vlog on students’ speaking at twelfth grade of SMK Nasional Muara Jawa.
The method used is quantitative a method with quasi-experimental research as the design. This sample This study involved 21 students of class XII accounting 1 as an experimental class and 27 students Class XII students of  administration business 1 as the control class. To collect the data from both classes, this research used a speaking test provided in a pre-test and post-test as the research instrument.
The obtained data from both pretest and post-test were calculated and analysed by using IBM SPSS Statistic 21. And the result revealed that the post-test mean score of the   experimental   class  was  greater   than   that   of   the   controlled   class,   namely (83.29>73.22).  It  meant  that  the  experimental  class  and  the  controlled  class  were different  significantly  in  their  posttest  mean  score.  Then,  the  result  of  hypotheses analysis showed that tobserve was higher than ttable (5.327>2.998) and the significance 2- tailed (P) was lower than the alpha (0.000 <0.05). It meant that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be considered that using vlog has given significant effect on students’ speaking skill. In addition, the result was also measured by using cohen’s d effect size measurement to know the strenght of the effect. And the result showed that using vlog in teaching speaking gave a moderate effect on students’ speaking skill with the effect size of 0.59.</note>
